The Eagle Ratings!!

Is it not time for Clear Channel to pull the plug on this mess? The format is loosing all over the country. Keep The Edge, but get rid of the Eagle!
 
The EAGLE is a DFW Heritage brand name that has worn many different suits. The Eagle used to be what KISS is today, if memory serves correct. Didn't I hear ICE ICE baby on the EAGLE in 1991? Then it slowly morphed into rock, then it lost it's mind and went mexican, then lite, then came back as a HARD/ACID rocker, now it's morphing classic rock and hot talk. The Eagle name associated with the 97.1 setting is gold, just need to keep format tweaking till they find the proper mixture. My guess they bring Lex and Terry back to mornings, leave Russ in afternoons, and be a hybrid 'Talk that Rocks' format.
 
The "Talk Htat Rocks" format is dead as well. Look at what happened at 105.3. Russ is not even holding "The Eagle' a float. It is time for change over there. Not sure what you would put on 97.1, but what it is doing now is not working. Advertisers are not buying those demo's any longer.
 
Now that would work!! It is different form what "The Edge" is doing, and different form Mix and KZPS. That is something that is not currently being done. It also could be sold as a total Rock package with all of their other stations.

Here we go with The Eagle rumors again, I don't think KEGL will go anywhere unless they dump Russ Martin.
 
Sorry Charles, I was not trying to start Rumors, I was just trying to suggest differnt ideas. I agree with you about Russ. I really don't believe that anything will change. i was jsut saying it needs to. The other suprise was WBAP. I think that is the lowest they have been in a long time.

You do realize 105.3 never played Music Right?
(Except late at night)

That was just a slogan, which went away when Stern did.

I think a Rock n' Talk format would work, especially with the guy talk.

That being said, an 80s rock station similar to Z Rock would be pretty darned cool, Russ was on Z Rock after all.

Yeah & that's with AM & FM outlets. Seems everyone is disgusted with the DC stalemate & maybe people are tuning away in droves.
 
Actually, Lex and Terry didn't work on the Edge or the Eagle, so scratch that. Not L & T they kinda suck, but a great guy/hot talk show in the morning, with Russ in afternoons, Cindy or Chris Middays, pick the right songs, it could be good. RMS needs some competition anyways, his shows sound lazier than ever. Steal the Musers from the Ticket, and put them on Eagle mornings, those guys just talk enough sports to call themselves sports anyway.

97.1 ratings were very high with Stern and his trash mouth talk. They played rock music also.... but the BIG draw was trash talk.
Why Jerry Springer-like shows will NEVER die....

Not in to trash talk --- never was. But, the Research shows that the "masses" will eat that T&A trash up 'till the cows come home.

With that anchor, who know what "music" style CC will want to have around the corners... Whatever their music choice is.... it will not be "cool", that's a given. Music selection is the least of their efforts.

Musically... KEGL can Drop Dead, as far as I'm concerned. I'll Never be white trash enough to go for the "talk" or for the mass play lists that they choose to go with it.
 
Just a little tweaking on the music side, and maybe some Russ B Gone ..the ratings would go up? Oh and maybe all women jocks, plus Chris Ryan ;)
 
Make it Tejano I bet with Ppm in effect now it will bill and have better ratings then 97.1..
