The Eagle request show...finally!

I'm guessing that Friday night's request show on 95-3 The Eagle was a test run for the Saturay night request show from 7-midnight. It's officially part of the line-up now per their website. I don't believe the host, "Dr. Dave", has anything to do with the "Dr. Dave" from the old Z-93. My dog hope's he's a vet! I will be parked beside the radio for this, or driving somewhere with the volume cranked up. Should be awesome!
:)

Sadly, Dave had to check "his list" to see if my request was on it and could be played. It wasn't. The corporate request show lives. By the way, I asked for "It's A Long Way To The Top" by AC/DC, not exactly out of the mainstream.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've heard WTUE play that one before.

I have been listening the last few weeks and love the show! The only thing that I am disappointed in is the restriction of the playlist. Last week I requested Get it on by The Power Station and it was played. I called in this past Saturday and Dr. Dave said he could not play it because it was not on the list. That sucks! If it is an All Request show and they have the music then it should be allowed to play. Just my thougts. Sorry the comment was so long.

AC/DC's "It's A Long Way To the Top" is from 1976, so that's probably why it "wasn't on the list". As far as Power Station, they probably don't want to play the same songs each week. Request shows are mainly a thing of the past. Corporate playlists make them even worse. A Power Station song I guarantee isn't on their corporate list is the oft-forgotten but 3rd PS Top 40 hit "Communication".

Wow Power Station. That album is definitely underestimated for the non Bang a Gong songs. My room mate freshman year in Calhoun Hall made fun of me for having it but by the end of the year he was firing it up. I went to a great show at Riverbend as well, it was not Robert Palmer though which was a bummer but Michael DB did fine. Love Go to Zero, Harvest for the World and Communication.

Oft forgotten HIT? It peaked at #34 Alan...I don't remember it...and I was a Top 40 jock then!

Dr. Dave got my request through just fine, though I find his doctorate credentials dubious. Wouldn't tell me how many aspirin to take to cure a good old fashioned face-axeing. C'mon, Doc! It's the fourth highest cause of death for people in the upper lower eastern south west inner down north area of town. Right between scurvy and walroose mauling (a freakish Canadian cross breed of a walrus and a moose, duh).

Corporate 80s is a mixed bag but it could be much worse. Haven't heard any melodic rock yet. Phew.

It was their 3rd single. I meant to write single. I knew it wasn't a huge hit, but it did crack the Top 40 for a brief period of time. I knew that from reading my Billboard Book of Top 40 Hits. Kind of a vault-type song, in the vein of Mike & the Mechanics' "Taken In" was.
