The Early Show

You might not be able to bring back Captain Kangaroo now, but maybe CBS needs to take the same approach again: target kids from 7-9 as they get ready for school. Entertainment, educational segments, a revived "In The News," all packaged as, essentially, a kids' "Today" show.

Before his women's college basketball comments, Don Imus reportedly was being courted by CBS to move his morning show from MSNBC to CBS early mornings. That won't happen now because Imus works for WABC; but his show would be something different, which is what CBS needs right now.
BTW what's the story with Susan McGinnis?

According to other media boards, Susan was apparently shown the door by the new CBS News morning management; details are still sketchy. This just a few weeks after Hannah Storm was dumped from The Early Show.

Hannah still appears to be under contract to CBS, and might resurface in a different role (return to sports?) unless there is a mutual parting of ways. Her bio is still on the CBS News website.

Susan is completely gone from CBS, as is her online bio. No word on where she might be headed.
