THE EDGE

Hopefully the edge starts sounding better as a rock station in Tulsa.
Right now it's pathetic at best. They need to alter the format to a
more aggressive active rock station. More Sevendust,Pantera, Slipknot,
Mudvayne,Nonpoint,Megadeth, etc. These mentioned bands are extemely
popular and deserve more airplay. The imaging at the edge needs to be
seriously revamped. Even the name Z104.5 TheEdge needs to go. Rename
it Z104- Extreme Rock Radio or Oklahoma's Real Rock, etc. It sounds much
better and less like the mid-90's "Edge" moniker they currently have. Just my
opinion, I want the station to do well and right now they sound very amateur.

she's still on nights, md / apd, good ratings & still has her metal show "unauthorized airplay" & was recently mentioned in a news story on Blabbermouth.net regarding her interview w/ Chad Gray of Mudvayne/hellyeah - the metal news diary....

Ok thanks more Edge music less of her voice! :)

What about the other DJs? and what happened to Len Lawless?

Looks like the Edge is filling the void left by The Kross on Sunday mornings. I know it's for only a few hours a week but better than nothing!

I love her voice, it cuts through everything.... all of her production pieces cut through the BS b/c there is no one else in the market who sounds like her & so her airshift & her production stand out above the rest. & "Lynn" Lawless is the one who hired her & he's got a great ear for excellent talent.

I agree with you JayDee1979 She stands out and is to my ear a "Rock Jock"

I strongly disagree with you on this one. Amber is extremely annoying to listen to for me. Her
voice is like nails on a chalkboard,( ZEE1004point5TheEDDGGGEEE). Freakin' aweful and absolutely
amateur. College radio would be a great fit for her, not corporate radio. She needs to talk less,
and play more REAL rock. I hate her evening show with the higher doses of MTV wannabe rock bands.
I wish 104 would start playing some real bands with Real talent like Sevendust or Pantera! When
Sevendust came to town awhile back they refused to even play them when I called in on my way
to the show. Even though they were supposedly supporting the concert by announcing and promoting it constantly. What a joke. Thank god for XM!

The Edge is a modern rock station. Not active. As one who remembers their grunge/rap rock format for a time, I think they've improved and are representing a wider variety of alternative music thanks to their specialty programs. But then, I'm one of the people who listened to KMRX loyally when they were alt.

Well if Amber is so bad why does she have high ratings on her night show? I will admit when I first heard her I was like shut up but the next time I heard her I was like ya know she is not all that bad. Congrats Amber on having big numbers and don't listen to any of us radio people on this board have to say.

you obviously have no clue what you are talking about.... i was at that show & i was also at the meet n greet that was hosted by the edge b/c i set the damn thing up..... I also tech'd the remote in which Amber interviewed Sevendust live on the air.... not a phoner & not canned either...... I also walked on stage & introduced Sevendust with Amber & watched LaJon tell Amber thank you for the years of support & for being the only station in the midwest who has continued to support Sevendust.... even though they suck now anyway.......... i swear i'm going to stop going to message boards.... either know what you're talking about or don't speak.....
