The End For Christopher K At 106.5 The End Sacramento

https://radioinsight.com/headlines/180608/the-end-for-christopher-k-at-106-5-the-end-sacramento/

Entercom has removed Christopher Kay from "The End". Christopher K is part of the Entercom Cuts all over the USA.

Life took an abrupt turn this week.
We will no longer get to spend our afternoons together on 106.5 The End.

21 years almost to the day that I received the life-changing phone call that I got the job at The End, I got the news that I no longer have a job The End.
While it came as a complete shock, I am grateful for each and every day I got to be on the station, and I am grateful for each and every one of you who listened and shared your afternoons with me, whether it was from the beginning of The End back in 1998 (when I was on at night!), or anywhere along the way. What a incredible ride it was! EndFests, Jingle Balls, Friday Night Football games, getting to interview today's biggest artists, playing all the hits of course, I always told people that I was just a regular guy with a really fun job. A fun job that allowed me to meet so many great people all around Sacramento. And that's what I'll miss most I think, the camaraderie we had. Even though I was sitting alone in a studio most of the time, I knew that you were listening. My goal every day was to put a smile on your face while you were stuck in traffic or wherever you were, and to be encouraging to you as best as I could. I was just a kid fresh out of college when I started on 107.9, eventually met my beautiful wife and had our amazing kiddos along the way, and I can see from your pictures that many of you are having those similar experiences. It's like we grew up together.

I know everyone is wondering why this happened, and there was a reason given by management, which I find ridiculous, but that's not the point. Most importantly, I believe that God has a plan for me (and you too!), and this was His way of telling me that He has something different lined up. As of now, I'm not sure exactly what that will look like, but know that I can't wait to find out! Not sure if that means staying in radio or trying something new, but for the first time in my adult life, I'm free to explore, and that is an exciting and freeing feeling.

So I hope you keep listening to The End. Do so knowing that I put my heart and soul into it for 21 years, doing my small part to help it get to the point it is today, one of the most listened-to stations in Sacramento. I hope their ratings only continue to rise, even after my departure. In the meantime, I'm going to cherish the extra time I'll suddenly get to spend with my family. And hey, thanks to social media, you won't really be getting rid of me! haha
