I heard promos for them over the weekend. They were asking "what do you want from your new morning show?" I wasn't impressed. It wasn't funny. Sounds like a watered down version of the Morning Rave. Two guys, one girl... stupid content. Oh well.
 
Yeah they were Ok in harrisburg. However, I think Gavin is way tooo opinionated for a morning show IMO. Kelly, although easy on the eyes IMO doesn't really seem to "get it" at times, is a bit to flakey. But did you ever listen to them when they had run of the show when Jason was on vaca. It was like listening to two people do a college radio show who talk way to much and force the listener to tune out.

I really don't think Sacramento is going to be the warm embrace that HKF gave them. It's going to be an icy recpetion and I have a feeling it's going to end in disasterous results.

I think the transition to to the west coast is going to be difficult for them ..Its a different attitude out here and some of the bits and antics of this show may will come off as obscure and busch league.
 
The End hired a morning show before they hired a PD? Who's running the show over there now that Steve Weed has left? I assume Curtis Johnson.

If my memory serves me correctly, I believe they had brought in a PD from Florida for "interim" assistance and later named him the official PD of the station. This might have been about a month or so ago.
 
Dan Mason (yes, the son of THE Dan Mason) was named the PD of KDND a month ago.

Wow, they deserve better than the treatment they are getting here. We appreciated them in the Harrisburg market. I wish them all the best of luck and preliminary commentary suggests they are going to need it. Tougher crowd in the CA capital than in the PA capital.

HACKS...LAME...not to mention it's on a station that killed their only listener...what more can I say? Thank god for Stern on Sirius!
 
Hey, no one is going to corrinate them after a few months in a market. It takes time...and talent seeks it's own level, meaning that if they're solid it will show.

Jason's very bright and is creative/talented enough to help that show find it's nitche, burrow in and own it.

Give them time.
 
Has anyone listened to their show??? I actually hate to admit it...their show is fairly compelling...they seem to be doing far better than anticipated??!! any other opinions?
 
But she lied to get it( trish) , and just got outed by the press. and by then it was to late, as she has started a" relationship" with somebody on the show, and they cant fire her

Not true. Everyone in radio that didn't live under a rock last year knows the story and who they are, they were in Blender Magazine even, so she didn't lie to get the job. And the press didn't "out" her. She gave an interview to the local paper. As far as a relationship goes not sure about that but "they" can fire anyone at anytime for anything... Like lieing on a resume... "They" are Clear Channel.

Not to mention the show has jumped from 5th to 1st in the last 3 months, 2 of those with her on the show. With ratings and ultimately money being the bottom line why would they fire her? Let that slip... That's when the axe comes out.
 
Chuckles...........such the expert. The press outed her, and she had to admit to the listeners it was her.
and they gave away 5 grand a day for 2 months to cause a distraction. Might want to read the bio's on line
 
shoothoops......at least she has the dignity of finding another job instead of crying like little babies, ahem Lukas and Maney. Seems to me she did the right thing for herself even if it did cause her to move away from her family and friends. I am proud of her for getting on with her career and not waiting to sue for a meal ticket because an idea blew up in their faces.

Lesson to Lukas and Maney.........MOVE ON.
 
I agree. Can't expect a person to never work again.

And maybe you should do some research hoops... they were giving the cash away when she got there, not because she went there. I assume you know, you don't just decide to give away 5 grand a day with out some planning.
