The end of \"The Edge\".....

A

Guest
The demise of \"The Edge\" will be occurring within the next few days, following the exit of Howard Stern. The station will be dropping its Modern/Active Rock format, in favor of \"mainstream rock\"....sad...The station will now be known as Q-103!!! Couldn\'t they have at least installed the heritage Q-104 handle, that was in place there, for so many years???!!!! Lame......

I'm sure you're very very sad that they didn't announce that Barry, Eileen and Big Bubba weren't named Howard Stern replacements!!!! After all they deserve to be on the same pedestal, right?!!!

Terribly. Someday my dream will come true for The 1/2 Jew, The Blonde and the Bratha from Anotha Matha...

YOU seem more upset than me, considering you announced it ;)

That is pretty weak. Perhaps that's an indication of what will happen when they split the signal. They must be doing Q-103 on 103.5 and the Jack on 103.9. When you say mainstream, do you mean they will go middle of the road like the River? Or are you saying they'll go in more of an active rock direction? What do you think the Channel will flip to?

Mainstream is their word for it. I\'m guessing that it will be similar to PYX, but probably with some currents, mixed in, and I expect that the simulcast will continue. I suspect that the Channel, will remain pretty much what it is now. I don\'t think that they will suddenly add a bunch of harder edged classic rock songs, to their mix, as the Edge, has been doing...I also wouldn\'t be too surprised, if this the final nail, in WRCZ\'S coffin....
