When I saw the subject of this post, I figured it was about Citadel bailing out on the "X". I give it six months, at most, before they "pull the plug" on it.

Another great column from Bob! Don't know what else to say about that except I cannot imagine that Citadel Birmingham hears these stations and thinks that this is the best radio they can do or that can be done. There are some very sharp people there who have worked at other companies that unlike Citadel were successful. They know what it is like to win and I'm sure know how to win, prehaps these voices need to be listened to. In 1998 The X was amazing you would think that they might want to reassemble the team that made it great. If I made a list of what made it great though I would not put the current morning team on that list.

Dead Horse...

Finally, I have been beating on this dead horse for years! I hope that Citadel understands what's taking place. There are NO lines to read between. It's all out in plain view. I would like to tell Citadel to wake up, but I think it's too late.

I say let's make "Birmingham's New Rock Alternative", "Birmingham's New Rock Authority"... what's left to lose?
______________

It's not a matter of them waking up. They know it's crap.

Shitadel is just waiting for the perfect opportunity to dump the format for another country station. Y'all don't need ANOTHER contry station, but they'll give you one. Just ask any New Orleanian how Shitadel plays.
______________

Good grief. B-Ham already has three Country stations. How many more, do they need? Keep Alternative at 100.5 and improve on it.

Don't bring another Country station, to B-Ham, Citadel. It will be the biggest mistake you will ever make.

That's my two cents.

If WZZK and/or WNCB had flipped, they would have done it. But since Cox kept those two country, it won't happen now. That window of opportunity is closed. They're just flailing around and waiting to react to someone else's move. But nobody else is going to move now, so maybe they'll decide to put some effort into WRAX again.
