The End of Z102?

Cousin Artie said:
The days of working a 4-6 hour day are over. If you can't multi-task and be of value in a variety of roles, you will get cut.

The only thing regarding that statement is that SUCCESSFUL MULTI-TASKERS who did fill a variety of rolls are being cut. So, even if you work 80 hrs a week and do many, many different things for a station... now a days THATS not even saving people.

Well, now that someone has brought this up...

Regardless of how well people (including me) liked Jay Shannon personally,
Z102 WAS ONE OF THE BEST SOUNDING CHRS WHEN HE WAS THE PD!!!!!!!!!!

The station was sharp, focused, and fun when he was in charge. I noticed the changes the minute someone else took over.
It is too bad Z102 is no longer part of Clear Channel because had it been at this point, maybe Jay could have been given more of an influence. Perhaps he can give some unofficial direction behind the scenes, who knows.

I know what some of you reading this are thinking: "Garret, have you lost your mind, what are you smoking?"
Well, you know me better than that. Like it or not, Z102 station sounded good when he was in Lubbock. Face it, he wasn't paid to be everyone's friend, he was there to do a job, and he did it well. He deserves to be in a market like Austin, and that's why he is there.
