The Fairness Doctrine

The very first time that I heard Guns & Roses and "Welcome To The Jungle", and the very first time I heard Nirvana with "Smells Like Teen Spirit".... I did not flip the dial because I had not heard that song before. I immeadiately recognized them as Good Rockers. Just "hearing" a Good Rocker was all it took....

They did not have "to grow" on me. I knew nothing about the songs when I heard them, ie if they were huge radio hits or not. I really did not know. All I knew was that I liked the songs, and that they were somethingmore than just some more "commercial" rock coming down the pike.

We all know music and songs that we really like, that took time to grow on us. But that music is not the music that I would suggest needs to be in regular rotation.

It's so simple to me..... IF YOU REALLY LIKE "THIS" .... THEN, YOU'LL PROBABLY REALLY LIKE THIS..... NOW....

The Question is.... do you fill the airwaves with commercial tripe that the masses easily like ....Or, do you fill the airwaves with "other" good stuff that many music lovers would easily like?

But, I'm not trying to change you Little1, I just want my opinion heard in the face of "business as usual"... That's all..

Unfortunately that argument doesn't really hold water. If people really liked the songs, they would have been bigger hits, and therefore wouldn't be termed "deep tracks."

it occured to me. at some point early on every song is new to the listener.at some point stairway to heaven and freebird was brand new to all the listeners.

they didn`t turn to a diffrent station then because it was new to them.

what happened to people between then and now?
