"BT" is up from a 4.7 to a 6.1, 12+ making them #2 in the market. Another big shocker K104 is up to #3 with a 5.6, from a 3.9. The Kat slipped almost a point, two slots behind "SOC".

The Fall Book is Out

No big shock here. I heard K-104.7 being played in every business I walked into this fall. It was unreal. Never heard Lite being played at all. It looks like some people enjoy the early Christmas music so don't look for any changes next Christmas season.
Still ratings are such a crap shoot, I still don't believe they are very accurate. It all depends on where the diaries are placed.

There are two points I would like to make in this discussion:
1) The Fall Book is a sham! Any media buyer who makes first or second quarter buys on the fall book is just not thinking. Christmas formats skew the ratings to an unrealistic number for some stations, and since share is about 100%, the Christmas music gain is a loss for others. And, since the Christmas music goes away by January, listeners go back to their old habits!
2) Why wouldn't a station that runs all Christmas music not promote it's regular format more during this high sampling period? I would think you might actually convert some of the Christmas cume if promoted properly. I Just don't hear it happening.

Anyone know what the average TSL is for a Christmas station?
