Dickey Broadcasting's Talk WALR-AM/Atlanta will flip to all Sports as "1340 The Fan 2, Fox Sports Radio" on June 23.
Big change for Dickey, as 1340, even with a weak signal, will be able to not only have Fox Sports all to itself.

Wouldn't it make sense to convert 1230 back to sports also? WCNN doesn't cover Marietta at night.
Yes, it would make sense to convert 1230 to sports, too. Wasn't it one of the stations that broadcast Kennesaw State University sports this past season? An FM simulcast wouldn't hurt, either, although it's probably not going to happen anytime soon.

1230/1340 was the only station(s) to broadcast KSU sports on the radio this season (unless you include the internet-only student station). I think they also have Notre Dame football if I'm not mistaken. So yeah, it could become a niche sport type of station fairly easily.

This weakens the 790 product offerings.
It looks like a shrewd move by the Dickey's to try and continue the distancing they have done from 790.
