MLB regulations, Jeff.
Something to the effect of no MLB Team can stream audio from games either regular or postseason.
Yup. MLB requires that all streams be down or play alternate audio (non-game related). the reason is that possible fans of the Rangers who live in, say, Montana could jump online and listen for free. MLB doesn't want anyone to get anything for free! Pay for the Extra Innings package or else!
Could be worse, in the NFL, any broadcaster that has a signal within a 75-mile radius of an NFL stadium may broadcast a game with no restrictions if that game is a road game...If the game is a home game it HAS to sellout 72 hours or more before the start time for the game or they can't broadcast it locally. If sold out in less than 72 hours, or is close to being sold out by the deadline, the team can sometimes request a time extension. But for the most part, teams that don't sellout their stadium don't have home games broadcast locally on TV - The NFL says, "If you want to watch the game, you must pay for a ticket and go to the game or buy Direct TV's Sunday Ticket ($369.99 a year) and you can watch it at home that way."
The NFL will get their money 1 way or another!
The NFL says "Screw the Recession" If your home team doesn't have a sellout at home games you buy $250 worth tickets, $20 parking, $9 beers (4 of them), $7 hotdogs (3) and a $20 program (grand total of $347) -or- Buy the $369.99 Sunday ticket -or- you can't watch it. Bwaahahahahahahahahahaha.....
Pretty cruddy options! OK, we're going to kill you by drowning -or- we punch you in the stomach and then drown you...But don't worry, you get to choose!
