The Fan

I don't have NFL network so I was happy that I could listen to the Bears/Saints game on The Fan. I like the fact that they are going to broadcast a lot of live sports. Maybe we can get some NBA playoffs on the radio that do not involve the Mavs and some NFL playoff action as well.

This station could create an interesting competition between all three sports stations. It should be fun to watch (listen)!

One thing I wish though is that Big Dick Hunter could have his Wild Ass Circus on The Fan.

Well the first 105.3 The fan employee post... Wow, out of town games on the radio! What is this 1920? nobody listens to games on the radio...especially Non-Local games.

please don't forget about the totally blind! Most of us listen to games on the radio all the time we don't like tv since the announcers assume people can see the screen and so don't provide much audio feedback!

Point to you, But..... There is not enough of the "Blind Radio Listener" group to support a station much less out of town sports broadcasts.... But a good point. ;D
(BTW: How do you read the posts?)

:) read with what's called screen reading software www.hj.com or www.gwmicro.com then there is the free software like www.satogo.com or www.nvdaproject.org love this site too cuz back when i regestered it didn't make you put words in from a picture which screen reading software couldn't handle!

you are probably 1 of 5 people who listened to that game on the radio.

His point was: Since less than 35% of people in the Metroplex actually have the NFL Network, it's nice to be able to catch those games on the radio...
Also, there ARE fans of other teams here, not just Cowboys fans.

I'm not an employee. I am a fan of sports radio so I will listen to the station as well as the other two. For your information, I listened to the game while driving home from work. I don't watch TV in my car for obvious reasons and since I do not have NFL network, it was nice to be able to finish the game once I got home.

I'm sorry that fans of the old station lost their shows that they listen to, but for a sports junkie like myself, it just gives me another option on the radio dial. I never once turned on the old 105.3 unless Big Dick Hunter was on there. I was one of the ones who liked him when he was on The Ticket, so I tuned in just to hear him.

Otherwise, I will not miss the old 105.3 one bit, and am glad that I can catch games and sportstalk on the radio while in my car or at home doing other things that do not allow me to watch TV.

I do, especially when I am not in front of the TV. OU, Texas, Mavericks, Cowboys, Kimball Knights. I love the lifted skirt and perfumed inner thigh of radio play by play.

ISaidSo.....what is wrong with listening to your favorite teams (local or other markets) on radio. If people did not listen to the games, why are stations paying or doing lease/barter deals to get the games on their stations.

Outlaw, is Eric Marc still on the Ben & Skin Show? You told me previously that you know him personally and I was just curious.

Also, is BDH still on 105.3 or has he moved his syndicated show to another station?

I think it's cool this market has a station that will broadcast play-by-play of college football. It's a nice change of pace for radio in a top 5 market. Lots of folks enjoy college football for the pure sake of the sport itself. And certinally that's more entertaining than listening to the same ole crap from obnocious talk show hosts. Some of them are right up there with the same level as a station that plays the same 150 songs over and over. Football is often far less predictable.

Because it is all about perception, Not listeners... Check out ratings for any of the local 3, there is no bump in numbers, it is all about saying we are your Cowboy station, not ratings.

As the Great Leon Simon used to tell me.....Perception ain't right, but its real.

Just wait until the second round of the NBA Playoffs, they'll be gone by then. ;D

You are probably wrong. It was a good game.

I actually find it more satisfying to watch a game I cant see on the Gamecast from ESPN.com. Shows the drive and says exactly what happens and updates automatically. Far more interesting than Westwood One. Though I do love Dennis Green when he is on. Very smart, knowledgeable former coach. "They are who we thought they were!" Plus his son has a great podcast on ESPN, Football Today.

At first when I saw my screen name movine I thought I was high or something?

Yeah I know Eric he is still producing for B&S, I'm not a fan of the whole just listening to B&S while they bring in some great columnist like Tim Calishaw or Richie Whitt for 2 hours a day while Syb and Eric are just in the background making noises like laughing or in Sybs case just doing news

I'll take "The Fan" over all that yapping and reran skits any day of the week. Thank you, CBS and Gavin.

Oh, and wow, do you really have to fire everyone...aside from Russ that is?
