The Fan

So is this any different than the previous discussions on this board. Think it's pretty easy to assume that with the new network and .8 ratings changes are coming.

So Cumulus Media will handle the syndication for CBS sports stations? Does that worry anyone else here? I heard a SweetJack (Cumulus owned) spot on a Clear Channel station the other day and it made me scratch my head. Is it official that all major media companies (except Salem) are in bed with each other?

It's typical for that to happens. They view each division (radio, tv, advertisement, marketing, etc...) independent from each other. Drive around town and you'll Clear Channel billboards with other broadcaster's ads. Matter of fact Newy Scruggs, who does sports on NBC 5, had a show on The Fan that is o&o by CBS. Dallas is the only market where CBS and cumulus have competing sport talks.

To get access to Cumulus stations, Clear Channel aggreed to air and promote the Sweet Jack deals. That's why Cumulus agreed to remove it stations from all other streaming options.

This absolutely means 100% NOTHING for Live and local changes coming to The Fan. Aside from the possible overnight dump of Fox sports, there may be changes, but they won't be due to CBS Sports Radio.
