... doesn't look so bad afterall! Fox has got the Super Bowl and American Idol. CBS has got The Grammys with a new Survivor starting the first full week of the book. ABC's got Lost actually anew. The only major network I'm not sure of what they're doing or even if they have a prayer is NBC. They've been hyping the new Knight Rider, but will it hold up? The KR die hards already hate it since KITT in this one is a Mustang instead of a discontinued Trans-Am, plus KITT's arch nemesis in the old episodes was KARR, a Mustang. I'm actually intrigued. I love Mustangs. But, I was also intrigued about American Gladiators when I heard Layla Ali and Hulk Hogan were hosting it...that excitement lasted fifteen minutes into the first episode.

The local news outlets are apparently picking up the slack with their special investigations. Even stations that know they will win sweeps are reducing to the lowest common demoninator. WSB-TV/Atlanta aired an investigation into housecats causing sitzophrenia and mental illness. Although it is not a real threat to anyone, they scare you into getting rid of your cats. (I guess a bunch of dogs schmoozed the station into doing that story

Seriously, if you did not know what time of year it was, you could easily tell it was sweeps month by turning on the local news.

Oh yeah. The news is particularly bad every book. I get sick of hearing about a "special report", like there's really anything "special" about it. That reminds me I need to put this on that thread about what needs to be gone from newscasts. Is Fred Powers still at WGCL? Time to fire up the stun gun again!
