The FISH and 94.3 saga now has answers

The questions about why Salem did not do any promotion of the 94.3 signal simlucasting the The Fish are now answered. Salem did not plan on keeping 94.3 for the long haul so did not want to waste energy promoting it. With the swap of 94.3 for 103.9 Salem is immediately promoting the new 103.9 on the air with the double "103.9/105.5 The Fish" moniker by the jocks and "105.5/103.9 The Fish" in promos on the air. 105.5 still is strong in areas north and west of Sacramento where 103.9 is weakest so maybe they will keep both.

Why do you say the 103.9 signal is weak in the north and west areas of
Sacramento? It is hardly weak there at all. I can get the station like a
local in Vacaville and Fairfield and the station has a great signal even in
the Stockton area too. Before you say that you really should get in your car
and drive the area 103.9 has a great coverage area. I think Mr. Bustos will
come to regret the day he made this deal with Salem. The signal from Jackson
is not nearly as great as he made it out to be in news reports.

I am looking at signal maps for both 105.5 and 103.9 on the FCC web site and 105.5's stick is northwest of town and 103.9 is northeast of town. The 60dbu signals do not overlap each other too much. 103.9 appears to cover the bigger population since it looks like sacramento's northeast suburbs are the highest populated. From the maps I see 103.9 is strongest in the areas that 105.5 should have signal issues. Granted the closest I have been to Sacramento is Napa Valley so I can only go with the fcc 60dbu map. I should modify that the best of the 105.5 signal is west and northwest of town while 103.9 is strongest north, northeast and east of town.
I also know that in the car stations come in better farther while other radios have signal issues .
