The former WHIR-FM

Will EMF sell this station or end its lease on WVRB? Both will have similar coverage areas once the WLAI CP is built out, and unless if EMF starts a new format or brings "World Wide Worship" back to life, there's going to be massive duplication of formats.

The fact that the calls on WHIR-F were changed make me think that it's going to be the Lexington-area Air 1 affiliate for the duration, although EMF would have a more pressing need for translators in Northern and Eastern Lexington with WLAI moreso than it would for WVRB.
______________

How well is the K-Love coverage in the Lexington area? I know there is a K-Love signal from WKVO-FM in Georgetown. Will it be beneficial for EMF to place K-Love on WVRB?

WKVO's coverage in Lexington is excellent, as Georgetown is only about 11 miles from downtown Lexington; K-Love had been on WVRB (now Air1), which does OK, although North of I-64 it breaks up, and it doesn't reach as far east as most Lexington stations do. WXKY-FM/Stanford is serviceable from Nicholasville to just north of Somerset.
______________

I have wondered the same thing. It does not make sense to have them both air1 since they cover the same area. But since 95.3 has the better coverage in Lexington it would be hard to beleive EMF would stop their LMA with it in favor of 107.1. Could it be possible air1 has such great support in Danville EMF wants them both?

95.3 id not take air1 calls because EMF does not own it like they do 107.1. I kniw you know EMF LMA's 95.3. But it sounds like you did not understand why they did not change the calls for 95.3 too. EMF does not change calls of stations they do not own. That does not mean EMF will stop LMAing 95.3 though. Air1 on 95.3 is probaly their for the long term I am guessing.

Buy I would have thought they would sell 107.1. I did not understand why they bought it in the first place. Perhaps they do not know. I would have thought EMF would have bought the other Baldwin stations they are LMAing's instead of 107.1. There may be something in the LMA contract we are not aware of. Maybe Baldwin does not want to sell them and EMF bought 107.1 in case they would lose the LMA as a precaution. But I heard EMF bought 107.1 from Baldwin because he was in bad health. From what we can see it makes no sense.

Air1 now on 98.9 in Somerset

Since it got deleted I will post again air1 is now on translator 98.9 in Somerset, KY.
