The Fox 2023-2024 season Thread

So far, here’s the list of renewed shows…

Accused (Season 2)
Alert: Missing Persons Unit (Season 2)
Animal Control (Season 2)
Bob’s Burgers (Season 14-15)
The Cleaning Lady (Season 3)
Family Guy (Seasons 22-23)
Krapopolis (Season 3)
Next Level Chef (Season 3-4)
9-1-1: Lone Star (Season 5)
The Simpsons (Seasons 35-36)
That ’90s Show (Season 2) (Netflix exclusive)

For animated series (and reality series) does the fall/winter and winter/spring count as 2 different seasons, unlike non-animated scripted sitcoms and drama series where the fall (September) to spring (May) counts as 1 television season?

I hope WWE Friday Night SmackDown is on the list.
SmackDown is safe for 2023-2024 TV season, WWE's current deal with Fox ends in Fall 2024, hence why the TV deals are being made right now, as they do that in advance to make sure they don't disrupt the programing when the contract expires and get people time to prepare for a network change.

It’s all the same tv season. September to May.

How a given reality series counts seasons varies. Survivor is hailing season 44 coming up. We all know it didn’t debut 44 Septembers ago; they count each cycle as a season. It’s irrelevant either way.

How many times a series run given a time period is irrelevant to what is considered a TV season. September to May is the official ratings period that advertisers care about. Now we have mid season that was never really a thing back in the day.

Definitions change and evolve. Yes there are vestiges of the old world, but more and more we get into a new world and the agencies buy in more sophisticated ways with more sophisticated data. A season can begin and end at any point, no matter what the Mad Men era definitions were.

Reason I asked is earlier posting in this thread states Simpsons will be Seasons 35 and 36 and the other animated series also list 2 seasons.

TV seasons run September to May but reality shows have different seasons as they have less episodes to resolve a winner but with 2 combined seasons almost amount a total 20-24 episode regular season.

Survivor, The Voice, Dancing with the Stars in their early days, and The Masked Singer to name a few air 2 seasons a year. 1 in the fall (September) with a winner announced in either November or December. The 2nd season starting either around February or March to finish around May.

All networks program year-round there will always be repeats during the week in summer and during the holidays late Nov/Dec for specials. Hi-Surf looks good I liked Accused as well.
