this is no ones faught not even j933 or the fish or any other ac christian station . go look at www.radioandrecords.com and look at the christian charts for ac . its on the christian ac charts and is being played on every station . do the research. the fray lead worship for there chuch in denver colorado. they are ALL christians so therefore they can be played on Christian radio. It doesnt matter if the band is a Christian band to be played on radio. As long as you are a Christian and you portray that in your walk and the way you talk to people then you should be played on Christian radio. we have segregated Christian Radio SO much . finally we are making a difference. If someone hears this song on The fish or J933 they are going to listen to more of the station and maybe hear something that can help there faith. so this is awesome!!!

I am a little lost on what your point is. Are you praising Christian radio (including our local FMs) for spinning the song?

The Fish has played a lot of tunes that also air on secular radio. Right now a country hit by Martina Bride is top 5 in Fish airplay because it has a christian message. The Fray is also currently in the top 10 on the station. Lifehouse, Carrie Underwood, Natasha Bedingfield, and remakes of Brad Paisley, Leeanne Rimes, Rascal Flatts songs make WFSH's airwaves.

I heard a tepid pop song the other day and now I'm a beleeeever! Safe for the whole family (as long as you ignore the part about hell).

The FISH (and CCM) is a commercial format just like any other. By design, CCM is designed to be a "mainstream" format that happens to play music about Jesus. According to their #'s in key demos, they seem to be doing a pretty solid job.

You've given me an idea for a new format, Jewish Contemporary, "The Gefilte Fish."

1690's new image voice could be Jackie Mason.

I was thinking of going to southern California and launching a format for 18-34 Jewish females. It would be called "KJAP ... Southern California's Jewish Princess".

LOL, Roddy! Very good!

Caller10, The Fish just tries to promote their station as one you can listen to without having to worry about offensive language/subject matter from the DJ's or the songs. And they do a very good job of that. So for anyone who cares about that for them or their kids, the station meets a need. Yes, the lyrics to some of their songs are blatantly Christian, while others are more subtle, and some are just positive message songs. But they don't carry any preaching programs, and rarely talk that much about "Christian" topics. And as someone else mentioned, they're simply trying to meet a particular programming niche in the Atlanta market, and from the numbers, seem to be doing that very well.

Compare Salem to, e.g., Provident/RTN, which owns J93.3. Salem is a publicly held corporation out to make a profit, whereas Provident/RTN is a ministry with both commercial and noncommercial stations, although both the Fish and J93.3 have substantially the same CCM format.

Ive heard POD on christian radio
actually they received heavy airplay back in 2k1
mxpx has seen MORE success on christian stations than on mainstream actually, even though theyre moe of a mainstream band

ive often wondered why a christian station wouldnt play music that simply had a good message even if it werent overtly christian

or instrumentals for that matter

how could any construe an instrumental as evil?:)

... well "All Jewish, All The Time" radio has come to Montreal, Canada on 1650AM. Atlanta's Jewish population is estiminated at 120,000, Montreal is 160,000.

"Radio Shalom 1650 AM is Canada’s first multilingual Jewish radio station and will broadcast 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Programming is broadcasted in English, French and Hebrew."

One show is "The Rockin' Rabbi Show with David Lazzar" ... "David Lazzar is the rabbi known as the “caffeine man” bringing his energetic personality to the airwaves. This rabbi is going to rock your hears off featuring International Jewish heavy metal and rock artists."

I didn't know there was heavy metal Jewish music. What are they going to play, all KISS and Twisted Sister?
