95.1- Kiss*
95.7- Currently Classic Hits-flip to Smooth Jazz
96.1- The Beat

97.9- Power 98
99.7- The Fox- Be the station for the panthers not wztk in greensboro
101.9- Urban Ac
102.9- Lite
103.7- Currently Country- flip to Spanish
104.7- K 104.7
105.3- what is the station? pshh..- NEEDS TO BE A STATION like for real- Hot-AC??
106.5- the end
106.9- christian- leave it! but have a different name PLEASE- you have the same name in the market
107.9- currently a suck-ass hot-ac/talk or w/e they are- please flip to a NEW Top-40 STaTION or something!
*- unsure of my prediction
So theyre are some stations that I want you to stay and flip! I hope you enjoy my predictions! :D
What do you think??

I like your ideas. And I completely agree about 105.3 and 107.9! Especially 105.3 -- that is the biggest waste of a 100kw signal I know of. At least 107.9 sounds like a real radio station but I agree it needs to flip or go a full-blown Hot AC. 105.3 would make a good Oldies station after it moves if 94 can't move closer to Charlotte.

So JohnSells94, why should contemporary christian be simucast on 91.7??

Well, I guess I have upset you with my "dream" radio dial. I would choose 91.7 for a simulcast of New Life 91.9 simply because 91.7 is right next door to 91.9 on the dial and it would give one of my favorite stations the Gaston County coverage it needs. 91.7's current format is not my favorite, but I'm sure a lot of other people enjoy the station.

I think the Contemporary Christian format does very well here. I would love to see it on a full-market signal. I think the format could thrive on a commercial signal like 106.5 or 104.7 (now I'm really dreaming).

I hope that answers your question. Now, I have some questions for you. I'm sure the folks at 91.9 would cough up some cash to purchase 91.7. Do you think Gaston College will ever sell the station? Do you think the idea has ever been tossed around by the powers that be over at New Life 91.9?

Yeah it is - but I can't think of any other 100,000 watt FM stations that still serve their local community as well as WAGI does. You don't see very much of that in radio anymore.

Re: The Future of Charlotte Radio

Ok, I can see that no one wants to answer my questions. I'll jump into the snake pit, because I'm not scared. I'll answer my own questions. I don't know how loyal Gaston College is to 91.7, but my old boss always told me that "anything is for sale". Money makes the world go around and at some point any station could get thrown under the bus for the right amount of cash. There are some station owners who wouldn't sell for any amount, but I believe those are few and far between. Gaston College may be one of those few and far between owners and maybe not.

I do think 91.9 has tossed the idea around and from you guys not wanting to answer the question, they have probably already shown an interest in purchasing 91.7. Who can blame anyone for wanting to improve their coverage area?

I've got to go to the ER now, I've just been snake bit.

Nobody mentioned the 960AM in Dallas/Gastonia. I was offered a job there during Reagan's first term, when they were a top-40 outlet run by a couple of former liquor store owners from New York City...billing themselves as "WAAK 96, the AMAZING AM". I declined the offer, and spent another couple 'o secure years at WNNC (Newton), never wondering where my next paycheck would come from! Altogether a wise move (or NON-move), IMHO!

Everybody has a price...and perhaps Gaston College does...but the snake pit that I personally want to stay away from are the (questionable) ethics in going about improving their coverage area...

From a Christian radio station, let's just say they aren't being very Christian-like in their pursuits...

The Future of Charlotte Radio

I guess we will just shut the door on this discussion and let it ride off into the sunset. I'm going to stick my head in the sand, put my fingers in my ears, and leave stuff behind closed doors. Sometimes its better not knowing.

The End.

BIG APE, I'm sorry that you are crushed :'(. I have no connection to Majic 94.1. 94 stands for the year I got started in the radio biz. JohnSells94...that is so creative!
