The Future Of Internet Radio Is In Immediate Danger

 If you listen to internet radio you should know, the future of Internet radio is in immediate danger. If you listen to music underserved on broadcast radio this affects you. I have no problem with artists getting fair compensation for their work. Broadcaster pay these fees because they use the music to make money , so this is fair .However ,The Copyright Royalty Board in Washington, DC has more than tripled the royalty rates for webcasters These exorbitant rates go into effect on May 15 (retroactive to Jan 1, 2006!).And left unchanged they will kill Internet radio. This is not just compensation but pure greed. Without Congressional action the majority of webcasters will go bankrupt and silent on this date. If you click on this link http://www.savenetradio.org/ there is a form letter already made out, which you can edit and add to as you wish. By entering your address they will send your e-mail to your representatives in congress. I don’t know how much help this will be but it is quick and easy and can’t hurt.
