The future of KOOL evenings?

I'm just wondering if that future of KOOL evenings is one with Tom Kent in the picture. It'd be odd that I be the person to post both about his arrival and departure from the market so soon, but I'm not sure about what's planned.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights were without Tom Kent. In addition, KOOL's Facebook (thank you for finally joining!) Page hinted a few days ago: "An old friend comes back home on Monday..." In the box on the left-hand side, where the on-air lineup is listed, question marks replace where Tom Kent's name once was.

Maybe something to look forward to at 7pm tonight. An "old friend" returns! From what I've heard, it hasn't happened yet, so evenings must be it. God knows there's a lengthy list of who an "old friend" could be... ;D

....and Monday afternoon TK, TK, TK was shown in the 7-Mid slot. Hmmmmmm. The Nurse and I cast our two votes for Lee Bortell if KOOL wants a local presence at night. But what do a couple of clowns with fezes on their heads know about radio? ;)

I don't know. Define "old friend," I guess, but Lee is still on KOOL (and has always been our friend, c'mon! :) ) Now, granted Lee HAD that evening spot temporarily at a time or two, he's actually moved around all over the place in 2008 with all of the maneuvering that was going on.

About a month before Tom Kent was added, remember, Lee got his old gig back as morning show producer. The evenings were actually voicetracked by James Rivas.

I know one person who was approached to voice the shift last month, but I don't think he accepted, so I don't know who got the gig. I think it's safe to say that KOOL is no longer a TK affiliate.

I think I'm in the minority here, but I really enjoyed the Tom Kent show. He had energy, personality, incorporated callers... isn't that what we've all been asking for in radio? Is to give us some personality every now and then? There are certainly other top stations in this market with local talent at night that have zero personality.

I guess I just don't see why people don't like Tom Kent... maybe I'm missing something.

Hate to say it, but I'll take TK over Camelback, even if it's national over local in this case.
