"The Gambler" Don Schlitz Dies

Hall of Fame songwriter Don Schlitz, who wrote The Gambler for Kenny Rogers, has died at age 73

If I recall, it was one of the first songs he wrote. He was an all-night janitor at Vanderbilt university, and wrote songs in his spare time.

You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold em. He also wrote a bunch of hits for Randy Travis.
