I just saw an Unsolved Mysteries episode, it was about the Seattle Grunge Scene in the 90's and the lead female singer of the Gits, Ms. Zapata, who was brutally murdered. It was a very interesting story, living in Philadelphia, I always loved the Seattle sound from 1990 to 1995, Nirvanna, Screaming Trees, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and so many more fantastic bands too numerious to mention. It took a while to catch hold here on the east coast but when it did, it became huge, its so sad to have seen it fade. The strange thing is, I have never heard of the Gits, were they really that big in the Seattle area and did they receive alot of airplay on area stations. It was so tragic what happened to that poor girl, but they did find the killer. Is the grunge sound still popular out that way and do area stations still play this tremendous, never outdated, music.
