"The Gospel Highway" takes a new road

Ran across this interesting development for our neighbors north of Beaumont/northeast of Houston. Gerald Proctor has traded his CP for 96-9 K245BT Buna to CCS Radio, owners of the Triangle's Gospel Highway at 88-5, in exchange for their currently on air and licensed K288FY at 105-5 in Livingston. CCS has had this translator in Livingston since 2007 or so, while 96-9 has yet to see the light of day(to my knowledge).

I don't see any advantage for CCS to do this deal. They're losing an established translator in Livingston, for an unproven, unbuilt one in Buna?

What am I missing here?

Well, one thing, there is NO WAY in hell they are picking up 88.5 in Livingston....that station is directional because of adj and co channel stations AND iirc, there is a 88.3 north of Conroe that would BLAST into Livingston. Doubt they can hear 88.5 direct off the air there..and when tropo blows in, KEOM from Dallas will be killing them...NOT to mention KCKT Crockett OOOOPS!!.

Howeverm KGHY has filed for an upgrade...I suspect they will hold the CP and look for another sucker.....errrr religious educational broadcaster....... to buy it
