The Great Don Pardo

God bless this man. More than 60 years with NBC and still going strong. This is a great interview I found with him. Anybody who is in the business or desires to go into the business should watch this. He talks quite a bit about his experience in radio. A fascinating story. Also a very long interview. Grab some food and pull up a chair. This is some interesting stuff.

If I am not mstaken, Don Pardo worked at WJAR in Providence in the early 1940s, as a radio announcer. Pehaps he even worked with Art Lake...

You are not mistaken. In the interview clip I posted it seems that Don had an extensive past in Providence. His dad owned a bakery here and Don worked at WJAR for a while. There is much talk of Providence in the clip. I had no idea Don was a local guy. Now I know much different.
