DIVA in New Orleans is now a full time AC. It was nice while it lasted. :mad:

I wonder if they will continue with the Rhythmic AC direction and Diva name, or just remove the Dance Hits.... Either way it sucks, cause listening online verifys that most of the Dance is already gone. This is a Black Christmas this year, We lose Diva, We lose the current friendly sound of Energy Arizona, we have pretty much lost most of the dance on Party 105, and my girlfriend dumps me for a 19 yr old Hip Hop thug who is 8 yrs younger than her, and moves out after 7 years. Not a good season for Dance, or Lovers. ??? The Diva in New Orleans isnt the only Diva the Grinch Stole.
 
It wasn't dance all the time but more of a few dance shows mixed with a white female aimed Rhythmic a/c format during the day (If I remember the Dance was Friday-Sunday nights only after 6pm)

Diva name is gone (that was what some on the Louisiana board blamed some of it's demise on, other was too much 70s disco early on for trying to aim at a younger crowd)


But nope,format is completely gone to be replaced with Adult top 40.. Numbers couldn't support the station as it was on the tallest tower in Louisiana and a rock station on the same tower (which Diva was 10 years ago) beat it two fold.

Actually the owner, Citadel is cleaning house and has already flipped formats on 2 of it's 4 properties in the market and we are waiting on them to drop it on the last one (as a Rhythmic oldies station Citadel owns still has very high numbers for it's small size in market)

They should have called it something like Party 92.3 or Energy 92.3, and kept the music more current friendly, late 80s and up, without the Disco, with more of a mainstream chr approach, but with more Dance and less rap than B-97.

cant we come up with any other names then party or energy?
 
Probably not... Power or Hot would be aceptable names, but that makes you think Hip Hop these days.
 
HOW ABOUT "FUN' "THE BEAT" "DANCE" "RYTHEM" .THESE COULD ALL WORK.
