The Groz is on BOTH Sports Stations

What a world radio has become...

The Groz is on afternoons with The Gasman and does full-in work on KJR-AM....Now he is the play-by-play voice for Seattle U's basketball team on.....710 ESPN!

That's I call multi-tasking!

I may be wrong on time frames and specifics, but I think at one time, Adam Gerkhe was doing Metro traffic (morning and afternoon), doing morning traffic on KCPQ-TV AND hosting a weekly show on KISW. This guy I swear was once EVERYWHERE on the dial not that long ago - and on top of it all too.

Not sure HOW he managed all that and a dating life too (personal, kick-back, chill-out, off time with a simple non-broadcasting related hobby? Even basic SLEEP? HA!)

But when it came to multitasking in Puget Sound radio/TV, he's a DAMN tough act to follow. Dude had to kick some serious arse to get where he is today. And my hat is off to him......

The Groz actually is part owner of the basketball team now. Since his hours were substatially cut back at Sports Radio due to budget cuts, they don't have a lot of room to make noise about The Groz pursuing other interests outside of his daily 2 hour gig. Good for him. He's got the pipes and the talent.

A 'part owner' of the basketball team....? It's a college team.... Do you mean he's part owner of the broadcast team?

Gerke was a bit different since he was all over the dial via Metro Traffic AND doing TV in the mornings, and if he was doing KISW, they probably didn't have a problem him doing Metro or TV.

Sure has changed, hasn't it?

The Redhawks secured a radio deal with Seattle's new ESPN affiliate, starting all of their matchups at 7:10 p.m. to help promotion. Grosby, the well-known KJR announcer, purchased the broadcast rights with Joe Abel, former KIRO radio general manager. Grosby will continue to co-host the "Groz with Gas" show with Mike Gastineau on KJR (950 AM).

"They have a chance to be a really big deal," Grosby said of the Redhawks.

Probably not a dumb move now that they're a D-1 school....who are doing well both on the court and with recruiting. Best of luck, Dave.
