The same format and the SAME playlist works on The River 105.9 in Hartford... Has for a number of years now, performs well in its demo, and bills top 5 in the Hartford market. It works well all over New England, and all over the country. The format and the playlist were not the nails in the coffin for The Harbor.

Except Hartford's River has DJs in most dayparts (many voicetracked from elsewhere) and still sounds like a real radio station, which it should, because 105.9 has a big-time signal and a long history of listenership in the market. I don't think CC wants to do anything local with 101.7 at all; the signal's limited reach -- not to mention that there are a significant number of Bostonians who've never listened to ANYTHING on 101.7 -- doesn't justify the expense. It's a limited signal on a dog frequency.
Oh come on now, if it was such a dog of a signal I don't think CC would have shelled out 14 Million for it.
