The Herd-I like it!

I really like the Herd. It is very entertaining. I really like the "Spanning The Globe" segment where columnists from across the sports world analyize the biggest stories and sports (many of them with local expertise). This is much more entertaining than Perry (and hey he does the Sports Blast now and it sounds like a good fit for him). I wish The Fan could find an entertaining show before B&K like this one and I might listen to the station more often.
______________

Didn't you write a few weeks ago that "The HERD sucks?" - and why would they replace a local show with a syndicated one? There's a reason why Colin is in many markets...the guy is pretty good!

I like the Herd too. Sometimes, Colin Cowherd will say something that sounds rather idiotic, but I'd rather listen to him than Perry Laurentino.
______________

No that was someone else. I was arguing for a national show instead of something local.
______________

I prefer Colin Cowherd's show over Perry Laurentino's, too, but I prefer Perry to refill my unlimited pasta bowl and breadsticks over Colin.

Just a question for you, B. Why the H wouldnt you listen to Dimino from 10-12? Dude is easily the best in the market, has a semi-national scope, is technically precise, and pretty entertaining to boot.

Just curious. For the record, I think The Herd is just plain OK. Colin is pretty good, but I wouldnt give anything more then a flip during breaks. Very average.

disagree. caught Perry doing the update the other day and he sounded bored and frankly pretty uncomfortable reading the copy.

Thanks for asking. I like Domino...I just can't pick up 790 here at my house outside the Perimeter. WQZI and WGST don't come in well here at all.

Hes boring, has zero personality, and no one here in Atlanta cares about how the PAC-10 is doing. Perry wasnt great but he was at least more entertaining than this guy and when Max was on that show it was a no brainer.

I already suggested a better show to replace Perry and this piece of crap, get Oliver from the zone since they only let him do that traveling segment and fill in now.
______________

Yeah that was me and his show does suck. And maybe they need something for the cows to listen to so they will squeeze out more milk from indigestion.

Just because he is in a few markets doesnt mean a thing, dont forget *rick & booba is syndicated along with JB & Billy, Bob & Tom,etc...........

This guy sounds like someone you might find on some late-night radio show while traveling. Horrible, just horrible.
______________

This is what kills me, who the hell cares about national sports talk? Do they do this in NY? Philthy? Chicago? NO. They talk about their rivals and who their teams are playing but thats about it.

Cant wait for the next ratings to show how much of a drop this show has even from a show as average as Perry's.
______________

could the ratings get any lower??? and most big markets do have a national sportstalk prescence; precisely the reasson that 680 should go all syndicated excepting B&K; it is nice to have a local staion that carries the Westwood 1 NFL package and the ESPN baseball and basketball games on a signal that is fairly strong.

BTW, where do you guys all live. Y'all always complain about signals but I never have much problem at all with 680 at night or 640,790, or 1340 during the day...

And I live way OTP.
______________

What's wrong with Rick and Bubba...I've seen their show on Turner South several times and I think their show is cool.
______________

I dont know of any major market that has national programming on during the day, most of it is at night when listeners are fewer. I was in Boston for a few years and never heard national sports talk, it was all local. But then again this was the same city where we would count the number of times the station would play an Eminem song, I think we got up 25 one day.
______________

I know that New York has an ESPN afilliate and I'm pretty sure Boston does too.

Philly just got a SNR afilliate.

I'd have to look up the rest.
