I've heard the hiss when I worked in northern Delaware driving Naamans road. I'd listen to WFAN 660 and heard a background hiss that was definitely not due to a weak AM signal. It sounded like a cassette tape recorded too low, white noise. The hiss was from the Radio Disney station in Mount Holly NJ, WWJZ was AM-HD at 640AM.
I know WFAN in northern Delaware (2 miles from the PA line) is DX listening, but is it far enough for a not so local station second-adjacent to lay down the hiss?
