The History of Sports Radio in NY Prior to WFAN

Back in the day I remember listening to MARV ALBERT hosting a sports call-in show on 66am WNBC. Other shows...CHRIS MAD DOG RUSSO on 570am WMCA, One on One on 90.7fm WFUV (bests hosts in the late 70s & early 80s and show was on Saturday & Sunday nights), JACK SPECTOR on 66am WNBC, RICHARD NEER on 1130am WNEW, ART RUST, JR on 77am WABC. Any others I'm missing?

I also remember STEVE SOMERS tryout on 66am WNBC in the 80s. He did a few shows.

You're missing a lot:
off the top of my head.....
Dave Sims did a Sports show on WNBC in evenings...right up until the end.
Bill Mazer on WNBC (in the 60's).
Jack Spector's Sports show on WMCA
Howard Cosell also did shows (in addition to daily updates) on WABC
John Sterling on WMCA (70's)
Marty Glickman on WCBS-A and WMGM (60's)
Marv Albert on WHN

The Dave Sims show was Sportsnight. 7PM-Mid I think, but I could be wrong on that. They also did a simulcast on MSG on Wednesdays, IIRC. The call-in number was 212-247-8666. Wonder where that number goes now....
