Re: Radio And Records.com Confirms The Story

I agree with you Jum!Yes! Yes! Yes! PLEASE put something on that we can actually listen to, haven't listened to the morning crap since November and refuse to listen to that nonsense that's on from 7-10pm, PLEASE put something LIVE on Saturday mornings, these repeats are absurd. PLEASE take away the senior financial crap on from 9-10 Sundays, waste of time, and PLEASE remove the drug rehab nonsense that's on Saturdays from 4-5pm.> Please, Mr Wolfe..put something listenable back on the> morning and evening shows. And weekends. > > Thank you> > Jum> > >

Re: Radio And Records.com Confirms The Story

I said it a few months back, SAM's talents are being wasted on this bomb morning show, no time to talk to callers, no time to talk to guests, always up against the clock, cutting people off, waaaaaaaay tooooo much info being crammed in, business reports, bla bla bla, nonsense, too much to digest, SAM is a good host if put back into his element where he can interact with the callers instead of cutting them off in mid sentence due to time constraints.

Did Whittemore Jump? Was He Pushed?

Six months is an awfully short time to expect someone to make significant improvements. If he truly wants to get back to the back woods of Minnesota, that's one thing. I thought he'd have more committment to RKO, but I've been wrong before.

Or is Entercom that concerned about immediate results that they pulled the trigger? Will Brian's legacy be that God-awful evening show that's currently on?

Brian, we hardly knew ye. Again.

Re: Did Whittemore Jump? Was He Pushed?

Yeah I kept saying I was amazed that people were expressing concern about
WRKO's ratings, as the 12 + seemed good. And I _still_ don't know the
actual numbers of the 25-54s, but again, I've been told that they
are in "14th place" or something.

btw, WODS has been plugging themselves as "Arbitron rated #1--the highest
rated music station in Boston". The 12 +s listed them as being tied for
highest rated music station with WJMN. Either a) WODS doesn't consider
what WJMN plays to be music, or b) maybe in the _25-54s_ WODS is #1 all
by itself. And that's the desired age group for oldies of course.

Re: Radio And Records.com Confirms The Story

In many markets, talk stations run three-or-four hour all-news blocks during morning drive. WRKO-680's Scott Allan Miller may be one of the few large-market talk hosts who has to do a morning drive show (juggling phone calls along with everthing else on the show).

WRKO can't do that because WBZ-1030 runs an all-news block during the mornings (and in fact from 5 A.M. to 8 P.M.).
