The Hit Music Channel 105-7 KISS FM

The domain 1057kissfm.com was created and registered by Clear Channel on July 16th 2006. A straight CHR would work in this market. Program it musically like G105 or FLZ out of Tampa and it would bring life to this market. When 94.5 was the beat with only 2 full time jocks the ratings were on the way up every single book. It seems like every person on this board likes to say it was the worst station around, but number 9 (up from 16th the year before) 12+ is by no means a bad station. Especially since the bridge between KZL and The Beat was narrowed greatly. With KZL playing all of that HOT AC music as of late, this could be a wise choice.

Urban AC would do well too. With jams and qmg at the top, it would tear away from them, and maybe even put TQR back to number 1 again.

Or how about Nature 105.7...all nature sounds all day.

Who knows?

P.S-Mike Klein, you're fat ;)

There biggest problem is going to be the signal...you can't get it clearly on most radios east and north of Greensboro. To be successful with a straight-ahead top-40 sound you're going to have to have total market coverage, and a signal hefty enough to penetrate buildings in downtown Greensboro...something I don't believe they have with this sick puppy.

This is the same reason 94.5 didn't make it as a CHUrban format. Their signal is weak in key parts of the market, and after a long stream of formats that research said should have made them a winner, they ended up being a niche Hispanic format. I've got a feeling that is also going to be the fate of 105.7.

You might need to get a new radio. I was listening to it on my car radio on Highway 220 in Virgina today. Just a normal car radio that was standard equipment. And it was a good strong signal also.

945 the Beat WAS making it. Stations don't flip and win in just 2-3 books. The BEat was steadily increasing. Would it ever knock off KZL or JAms??? I doubt it, but it coulda made a huuuuge dent. CC just dodn't wanna get beaten to the La Preciosa punch. That format is making 5 times more than any CHR on that frequency would have.

You sure it will be CHR "Kiss"?

Perhaps an Urban AC a-la Kiss 105.3 in Norfolk...

Radio-X

There may be a valid reason why WFMX can't be heard clearer near Danville. There's a LP station on 105.7 (that's up on White Oak Mountain, very good signal coverage for a LP) near the city, which pretty much blocks most if not all the signal. I've tried testing out where I can pick up WFMX, and anywhere near Danville, just won't work out. I was up there yesterday; you get 15 miles from the the city, and all hope is gone for listening to 105.7. I hate we have poor reception of 'FMX here in Hyco Lake/Semora, NC :(

Well.....Uh......Yeah, I'm not sure what my opinion is yet.
Oh, no. Wiat. Here it is: -dissapointed to the extreme-

105-7 KISS FM ? Am I listening to 105.7, or 97.1 ? I'm confused as CRAP now! ???

Now we know that 107-5KZL won't have ANY competition.
