The Hits just keep on coming to WGST

Ok, you strip Wayne away from The Kimmer and now...(from AllAccess)Talk Producer for 640 WGST/Atlanta640 WGST is looking for an experienced talk producer to help revamp a heritage PM Drive show. We need someone who can recognize Topic A on a daily basis and help the host tap into the passion. We need more than a guest booker. You will help pick topics, run the board and generally be a key player in shaping the sound of the show. To repeat, we are looking for an experienced talk producer. This is a tough, tough job. Who wants to be a hero?Send your resume to Randall Bloomquist: [email protected]ou couldn't pay me enough money to even consider this job...not that Clear Channel ever would pay enough money. "Who wants to be a hero?" Right. Try who wants to be a scapegoat? Anyone who puts up with the building of death daily is a hero.

DO you think they should hire Wayne back? or just finish it and fire Kimmer too? Pete and Wayne are trying to get a show together soon! will it work? It's just what i am hearing!!!

Just another oppurtunity for Randy to put another Hooters girl "on his staff".

The kiss of death to a talk show is the word "topic". A listener will sense that the show is forced and change the station if the word topic comes up. I know that from being a fan of talk radio, whenever the word topic comes up it's from the mouth of an inexperienced host who feels uncomfortable. A good host will gab all over the map about whatever comes to mind and listeners will hang in there because that's compelling. This seems so obvious, what is it with you people in the industry? What's needed is to hire some average person to be available as needed, whenever an idea comes to mind you just call them up and run it by them, like this: Hello, we were thinking about firing the supporting members of our cast and give the host a list of topics to discuss during the week, does that sound like a good idea?

Or the keyboard of an inexperienced program director.

A sure sign they're getting ready to replace Kim Beaterson, when's the last time he's ever had a TOPIC? (other than his next court appearance)

I find Wayne No Offense completely useless and worthless as a radio personality. Snake was a act of his own.. a white Royal Marshall if you will.. I find interesting no one has mentioned Mikey Rose as a replacement producer.. I think that might bring a little fire and discipline to the cause.. Let's look at it this way.. Kimmer has survived quite a bit of thingsPlanet RadioLoss of Mikey RoseDeath of Keith KallandDemise of Paul Harvey programs on 'GSTBravesradioJim GossettWayne No OffenseSnake Davisthat's a bit of kick in the knees for a drive time jock, most djs' could not survive a producer going away. Surprised if Kimmer is not burned out..

Let's not forget the loss of Boortz, then Hannity after that. Man, that has to hurt one's ego for two co-workers at your station to go onto much bigger and better things, while you're left behind to have your show first moved to the mornings and get your butt kicked by one of those said former co-workers, and then move back to afternoons, where your ratings are better than the mornings, but still suffer at the hands of that other former co-worker, who's now syndicated and on that other station. And of course now his program is being dismantled by mangement 1 person at a time. Yes, it's been a rough couple of years for the Kimmer, with the cancer, divorce, and WGST management. I've heard him say on the air that he need proffesional help, and it's no wonder.I'll give this to The Kimmer, I've heard him say countless times the he's been in the biz long enough to know that it's all about the ratings, and if he doesn't have them, management is well within their rights to terminate him. Would he be happy? No. But I don't think it will be a suprise either.

Poor guy and he treated his wife and co workers SO WELL. Let's take up a collection for him.

Not relivant to the discussion. I'm not sure how Boortz treats his wife and co-workers, but I do know that his ratings are solid, and that's why he's there. What the heck does this have to do with anything? Since I am neither his wife or co-worker, I have no idea what you're talking about. All of you people on this board talk as if The Kimmer has done something to you personally that makes you hate him so. I don't get it. Don't worry, if his ratings continue to slide, he will be gone, and that'll be that. I just don't get the hate for the guy. If you hate the show, don't listen.

Ditto, jimbo. Not relevant to the discussion. Sounds like will has an axe to grind.

There's allot of "off topic" posts on the site, plus the amount of back biting here is quite amusing. Makes one ignore them when found.
