The Holiday Lite

Based on what was written in today's Wall Street Journal, this years Christmas sentiment of "Holiday Lite" will be more than a Radio Stations logo for the holiday. Retailers are looking to a rather grim season.

Maybe this is the year for a station to promote the concept of a more traditional Christmas season and reflect upon the times when we all went to Grandmas for Christmas, and the like.

Personally, I'd kick it off with Alan Sherman's version of "Twelve Days of Christmas"

Unless, of course they actually DO begin things in October after Canadian Thanksgiving. In that case they should use the Mackenzie Brothers' version.

Its a joke, son. A joke. Perhaps a bad one, but an attempt at a little levity in the spirit of the thread. No offense intended. :)

(I happen to like Holiday tunes...and sentiment.)

Looking back on the old posts it was a year ago on the 27th I believe they put the countdown clock on their site. The wait is on!

I've got something else to add to this thread. When The Holiday Lite is over on Dec. 26th what do you think the format will be then?
Do you think they will stay with the current format(whatever you might call it), or do you see them turning off "The Lite" and starting
over due to increased pressure from FRESH and LOVE in the pre-currency PPM's.

I vote for jazz, swing, and adult standards.

Like AM 740. Nothing like it in the Chicago market, unless you count the Nelson Multimedia stations, which are too far away to cover the city.

mabye just on weekends while people are shopping not 24-7 while 105.9 is playing normal music people will just go there if 93,9 is playing x-mas music
