The impending death of LIR?

Can the end of WLIR be far away? The station with 9 lives may finally be on its deathbed. They killed and /or sold it a few times at 92.7, killed it at least once or twice at 107.1, tried to sell it again and failed, and now Vic Latino was quoted as saying that he will leave WLIR alone 'for now'.

LIR has been bought, sold, up for sale, channelcasted, tweaked, and moved to obscurity. Not to mention the quality of the website is worse than listening to distant AM. I believe WLIR barely has a heartbeat, and is about to be put out of its misery in the not too distant future. Who wants to guess when we will hear 'Forever Young' for the last time AGAIN on WLIR...

It's a real shame if they kill LIR for good. It looks like they just left it out there to die. Way too monotonous. Is it on autopilot or something? I think Alternative still has life if it's done right; and lately it hasn't been.
Perhaps I'm a minority but I still like the retro-80s nu-wave; and once LIR is gone, that stuff won't be heard again on the radio; well not in a dedicated format anyway.
One of the main reasons I've tuned away from that station lately is the horrendous reception at 107.1. I can't stand the conflict it has with other stations on the same frequency (the peak). I was hoping they'd move LIR to 98.5.
