The Insider trumps News on WCBS

You would expect WCBS to ditch The Insider, for a local newscast at 7PM (I am told KYW is doing this since the US Open coverage ran long), but apparently this syndicated garbage is more important than news. I think this speaks volumes about WCBS's priorities.
______________

Probably more corporate priorities than local.
______________
The only thing I gotta do is stay terrestrial and die!

Yet, the CBS o&o down the road ditched both syndicated programmes for an hour of local news. Go figure!
______________

I believe the CBS tennis coverage yesterday (September 5th) was in fact scheduled to run until 7 P.M. EDT.

WCBS-2 may have decided not to run early-evening local news because they may have given some of the studio crew the day off, given that the Noon and early-evening local newscasts were going to be pre-empted anyway.

There must have been some reason why they didn't have the news. Maybe they didn't find it necessary to air the news since Channel 4, 5, and 7 already ran the news at the regular times.
______________

The CBS network itself doesn't have a very high committment to local news. Their O&O in Detroit, WWJ-TV, has no local news and instead they air syndicrap such as court shows. I'm not surprised that they would be lax about local news on WCBS-TV.
