Buddy from what I hear will be mayor again after 2012 when hes eligible. Even he might run for Govenor in 2010. His probation applies to city office not federal. Thats what Im hearing his plans are. If you like it or not hes going back in office one way or another.

As for the topic started here, I'm surprised the Providence Journal hasn't gone after Buddy, for anti Gay remarks on a daily basis and the belittling remarks about his producer. One of the many reasons I'm Liberal in my politics, is because I believe going after Gays (Mayor Cicilline) or the Challenged ( Buddys Producer) has no place anywhere.

Buddys smart and I enjoy his insights. I too wish he'd keep away from the other things.

Are you talking about the Jockey? Because The Jockey isn't the producer, he only call screens for both Buddy and Dan(8 hours of call screening... takes a special person to do that!!}

As for Nick, why are we calling him "The Challenged"? He seems quite proficient at his job.

I hate to see people at the Trail getting hosed. They are good people. Isn't Buddy's salary 300,000 plus by the newspapers account? So, you people at Wpro are all chipping in to pay for his salary. If Buddy *donated* 20,000 of his pay, nobody would suffer at Wpro.

I'll defend the rich.. There are just as many corrupt democrats, (since you want to make this political!). Perhaps Jack Reid, would like to take up an invitation to appear on WPRO or WHJJ and answer questions about the $2.7 million he picked up from members of the industry his commitee was supposed to oversee... Maybe Barney Frank would like to take questions one morning on WSAR and explain his hand in the financial meltdown..

Yes, formerly being a low on the totem pole person on the Trail, I feel for them. What Buddy makes or has in his contract is irrelevant (along w/ Ron, Gio, Kim, David Jones, Heather, et al)...look around you, read a paper, watch the news-this is happening in almost every industry in America (WE ARE IN A RECESSION!). As far as the poor hard working little people...writing has been on the wall for year, radio is not an industry to get into....things have changed dramaticaly in the last 15 years....but you knew that already

Buddy has been convicted - and served his time to the community. I thought in the US system of justice that meant the slate is clean. If Citadel think he is worth 300K/year, then good luck to Buddy for getting a lucrative contract.

Any of the 'little' people (your words) who dont like the size of their paycheck, have options.. Grin and bear it, improve their skills to be worth more, or get out and find something that pays better. Noone is holding a gun to their heads..

I get the point. It's not that it's Buddys Salary, it's the head of AIG not taking a cut, when everyone else is. I suppose some of these posters defending Buddy, could be clones, whatever.

The other thing is, If Buddys show blows the horn for The Jockey, I think in the same vane of jest, they could do an occassional Jail Door Slamming, and then he Laughs. Hey, why not? It would give Buddy a Human side.

Lately, his show has been pretty much 3 hours of attack against the worst Mayor in RI history, David Cicilline! I do listen to Buddy 3 times a week And I'm Not 85. ;D

I am not throwing the worth of the people at WPRO or minimizing it(the little people as you call them); but after having done interning, board opping, swing shifts & weekends, I can speak to the fact that I didn't drive dollars into the place. I didn't fault Salty, Rocky, Gary, MaryAnn, etc for the money or vacation that their NEGOTIATED contracts provided for them. Seeing as you don't know what Buddy may do for the people that work with & for him (and neither do I), you just don't like it or is it that you don't like HIM? Try being honest for once....
