New programming begins Feb. 1 at WFRL, WFPS
FREEPORT - Local radio stations 1570 AM WFRL and “Country Legends” 92.1 FM WFPS are changing hands and formats, The Journal-Standard has learned.
Monroe-based radio station owners Scott Thompson and Ronald Spielman have signed an agreement to purchase the two Freeport stations from Maverick Media for more than $1.4 million. The closing, subject to FCC approval, is expected to take place on or before June 1, but Thompson and Spielman will take over programming effective February 1. ...
