THE JOY FM TO EXPAND BAY AREA COVERAGE

Signal is now live with 75kw from 388m HAAT which brings it to class C0 status from C3, its now one of the strongest signals in the bay area. Thank you Family Radio for finally allowing a format that reaches those in their 20s 30s and 40s.

Thanks for the heads up; I just checked and the Joy FM on 91.7 is off the air; in the past 91.7 has been the strongest FM signal where I am. (.73 miles as the crow flies). Is this a test right now; or is 91.7 gone for good?

So now for the greater Tampa Bay Area it's down to two frequencies (and less confusion where to tune) 88.1 and 91.5FM.

I'm thinking that in extreme NW Manatee county (Holmes Beach and maybe even Bradenton Beach), the 91.5 signal may be the more solid of the two.

The license for 91.7 St Pete is no longer shown on the FCC website so it has to have been already turned in and cancelled as a allotment.

I ended up checking out the FCC website as well as was surprised that it wasn't even listed as silent or license turned in etc.

If was as though it never existed.

The same on Radio-locator, which sometimes be hopelessly slow in updating the status of CP's, format changes etc, has also deleted it. Like the FCC site; no mention whatsoever of WFTI. Listened to the TOH I.D. on 88.1 at 6PM and they are still id'ing a slew of translators and HD2 stations.

Hello. I just recently moved back to Brandon and the joy fm is on 93.7 and 96.7. I thought they would have sold the translators or changed the format or something. I have no problems with 91.5 in Brandon.
