I have had the misfortune of hearing the Kid Rock song that samples Werewolves Of London by Warren Zevon and has it's cliched call out lines. This song is terrible! Absolutely pathetic. While never a huge fan of Kid Rock I had respect for the man since he incorporated some down home country into his style. The duet with Sheryl Crow is also a classic in my opinion. But, this one for sure is terrible. It is cliched and further brings down and stereotypes the rural folks of America.
I am with you 100% on this one. I am a PD in Alabama and the folks down here eat it up because the music sounds like "Sweet Home Alabama" and he mentions that song in the chorus. It leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth, but it lit up our phones this summer. This one definitely has a short life, though; as the other poster said Labor Day will shut this song down just like the pools.
It's almost as if somebody challenged Kid Rock to see how many cliches he could put in a song. The lyrics are a rip off of Kenny Chesney and the music is a rip off of Zevon and Skynyrd. One of the more famous 'poser' songs of the decade. I like British website
Digital Spy's review of the song: "dumb, lazy and as classy as spending Friday night drinking own brand cider outside your local Tesco's."
