The kids are out at KXNT!

Hendrickson and Kydd are out. Word on the street is that Alan Stock will take the afternoon slot, and the morning show will be an all news block. Hasn’t that been tried here recently? Good luck!

They were good on the weekend but not strong enough for primetime. Stock started here in the afternoon so his return to that time slot should be seamless for him. Nothing but news and traffic in the mornings has never caught on here.

I don't remember how long it lasted. They started with a loy of confidence it would do well. Big tv campaign and I think some boards was part of the marketing

They made some other changes too such as moving Mark Levin to tape delayed nights and starting Coast to Coast at Midnight instead of 10P.

Someone on another board was upset about the changes and predicted that KXNT will become the third place talk station behind KDWN and KDOX. Does anyone here I agree with that? I say there is no way that's going to happen for one simple reason...RUSH,

KXNT is a fixture in Las Vegas, and will not rank behind KDWN or KDOX anytime soon. Besides, KNPR is the highest rated talker in town - check those numbers.

And seriously, if anyone thinks this Bob guy just blew into town and decided to "create" morning news or go live and local with Stock instead of the contest winners, they are mistaken. KXNT is corporately owned. These changes were most likely in the works even before the other p.d. was fired.

The new PD has made more changes at KXNT. They have new imaging and a new station voice. He has an older, mature sound. They have a new positioning statement... "This Is The News Leader" has replaced "Voices You Know, News You Can Trust". The top of the hour happy sounding "KXNT... Las Vegas" jingle is gone.

I wonder if the other radio star winners will be off the weekend lineup? Will they even have the radio star contest in the future? My guess is no.

Hello Mr. Agnew - Nice to see you post on the boards! Regardless if you created the new format or not, it DOES NOT work here in Vegas, you may think it does because your used to it from SF or LA. There is not enough news here, are you going to sit by the police scanner all day to get news?

The Teacher,

PacificMVP's point is that corporate pulls the strings, not that it's a brilliant idea.

I think he was also saying that KXNT is a heritage station. His words were "anytime soon." He didn't say the station could NEVER fail.

Why were you so quick to jump on his reasonable observations?

Do YOU have an interest in what happens here, maybe?
