The Kimmer's 1st day

I made sure I tuned in today to check out the return of the Kimmer. Now I know why I stopped listening to him when he was on WGST. Stupid jokes, more laughing than content.

I was surprised about something. I was listening on line. I noticed that, in the first commercial break, they ran a PSA. Now, is that something that just aired on line? or was it over the air, too? Do they run the same spots on both?

I guess I'm confused about it because, now that it's a talk show that's on and not a hard format clock, why would they run a "fill" spot. Why not give the host an extra few seconds?

I wish Kimmer and Cumulus the best of luck on this change. I, for one, will not be listening anymore between noon and 3pm. Way too juvenile for me.

yea, I listened to the first half hour or so just to check it out. I agree with AMRocks- Very stupid. Can't see how this will help the station. If they want to have a fun afternoon radio show, Put Pete Davis on(I remember that he used to have an evening spot that was pretty good) or hire Mark Arum away from WSB.

Train Wreck, gawd it can only get better, he's making fun of the brand "21-5 all news" etc
sadly more people will listen to the 3 hr laugh track than the serious news presentation.

Why is Jennifer Perry the news reader at 1pm? What happened to John Lisk...? During the first hour, there was not what
anyone could call "news". Mostly Kim laughing at his own stuff. Is this ALL NEWS ? Seems like a wrong title for the
station. Jennifer Perry is really good on the air.....but Lisk is a better news anchor. Next if 106.7 wants more listeners
get Michael Savage back on the air, since Cumulus now owns his program. Why not? They are interrupting the news for
the Kimmer...so why not Savage....?

traffic on the 6's is gone in fact i assume WSB has more traffic reports from noon to 3pm and more news. Averaging 2 traffic reports at the time per hour is sad and traffic could have stayed on the 6's with this talk show. I see that after 1:30 the news updates are 2 minutes. They went from one extreme to the other for news and information. Im glad to hear the kimmer back on the radio but this is so wrong way to kill the station. If they going to add talk go ahead and get it over with and kill the format and become a joke.

They could have done this different and it would maintain the flow the other 21 hours has. IF they turn this into WGST from the 90s then just do it and let us adjust. So removing news from the midday slot to less than even Q 100 offers during this slot.

During the first 30 minutes they kept the traffic and weather. The problem was there was only about five minutes of Kimmer in the first 15 minutes of the hour. It appears they made a decision on the fly to drop the traffic and take more calls.

When a 65 year old man starts talking about teenage girls, starts making strange sounds and then laughing really loud because of where their minds are going, it's time to find something else to listen to. I gave him a shot.

I don't think Atlanta has a lot of SAG-AFTRA folks but union voice talent commercials are not "aired" on internet streams. AFTRA announcers can read the news, "DJ", do talk shows (Rush, and Hanity, might be members, as is most New York air talent*) but IIRC there is no "residual" payments for steamed spots so are is no union commercials on internet streams. Most nation companies reather than try figure out what is a "union" spot and what isn't just fill the all of the commercials with PSA's.

*I can't find a reliable source in the internet on either's membership, but from personal experience if you are in a union operation (or market in this case) it is best to pay the dues and get along with your co workers.
