The Krypton Factor

If and when I get a chance my next retro will
probably be for Atlanta and environs for August
1, 1981. On that night ABC debuted a
five-week game show, "The Krypton Factor,"
based on a British show and hosted by Dick Clark.
I remember that the show was tough; contestants
had to do things like compete in dune-buggy races,
play video games (to test hand-eye coordination),
answer trivia questions, and undergo a memory
test, such as repeat a sequence of numbers backward
or repeat the sequence but add one to each number
originally given to them. It's a show I'd love to see
again. Anyone remember it, and does anyone think
it could work today?

Definitely remember Krypton Factor! It was the first game show I could ever actually *remember* that aired in prime time (I was born in '74 and was 6 1/2 when it premiered). Also thought it was cool that Dick Clark was the host as well.

Friday nights at 8:30, if I remember right.
