Turns out that the smooth jazz music on WYZM/106.7 (Mt Horeb/Madison) was only a temporary thing. There had been almost 2 months of testing on the frequency, with a constant smooth jazz playlist and very little identification (personally, only once did I hear them ID themselves as "Smooth 106.7," and it had an obvious in-house sound). Now, a check of 106.7 today reveals that WYZM is now simulcasting its Mid-West Family sister station, WHIT/93.1 The Lake.

Simulcast 93.1? What's the point of that? I would think if they we're going to simulcast one of their stations it would be 106.3, since 106.7 will cause some signal interference to the west.

93.1 transmits from northeast Dane county with 6kw. West of Madison the signal starts to get more of a B grade instead of city grade unlike WWQM so they are probably just trying to boost it in those areas (Western Dane County, Iowa County, etc)P ID="signature">______________
