The lazy millionaire Howie Cutback

How do his sycophantic fans feel now that Howie will only be live four days a week? Fork over 13 bucks a month and you get some hanger-on lowlife hosting on Fridays (I hear that's the plan). Howard forgot his regular LI guy roots back in 1986--but now he really has become what he once made fun of. One good thing: maybe no-talent news hack Robin will also not be there on Fridays.

I just want to point this out, so there's no confusion from people:

(information taken from sternfannetwork.com)

Old Howard

6-10:30AM with a five or six 15-20 minute commercial breaks.

thats 4.5 hrs - 100 minutes or 2.8 hrs live each day

which works out to 14 hrs live per week

Howard used to work 44 weeks a year which works out to 623 hrs of Howard a year

New Howard

6-11AM with a five 6 minute commercial breaks

thats 5 hrs - 30 minutes or 4.5 hrs live each day

which works out to 18 hrs live per week

Howard will be working 42 weeks a year which works out to 756 hrs a year

Fans of Stern are still getting non-stop Howard, between the replay shows & all the extras on the two networks. Personally, not being a die-hard Stern fan or anything, I don't really understand why he has chosen to take Friday's off, but its not like he hid this or just came up with this idea in the last few weeks (this info was disclosed when the $500 million contract was announced).

This isn't new news to anyone. Howard announced long before he came to Sirius that he would only be working 4 day weeks. Also, he has quite a bit of time during the year that he will be off on vacation as well. This isn't a scam or anything new. It was all announced well before he came to Sirius.

And to answer your question, I'm feeling great about Howard. Awesome show that is better than ever and gets funnier every day. Also, I love the other shows (hacks as you call them) on the channel. Easily worth 13 bucks a month, plus with all the other great Sirius programming, it's a no brainer. (In fact I have been a Sirius subscriber for over 3 years now, and the service gets better all the time. I actually have 3 subscriptions and wouldn't dream of dropping any of them.)

I understand why some fans might be upset, but it isn't like we are paying $13 to listen to JUST Howard in the Morning! There are over a hundred other channels available to listen to as a backup, most which I haven't even had the chance to hear yet.

PLUS! The Friday Show, the replacement for Howard on Friday, is going to cover all of the happenings that happened on the show that week and talk about what went on behind the scenes. Granted, Howard would be the best thing, but this is not a bad replacement.

So if you don't like The Friday Show, I'd suggest scanning the tuner, because chances are that you'll find a suitable replacement.

I feel that after Stern going past 10 AM to 10:15

10:30, 10:45, and sometimes 11 AM for almost 20 years, it's not a big deal. Even on Sirius, he's gone way past 10 AM everyday so far.

And I also feel you're a troll.

Mancow on Stern:

“I’ve always pictured [Stern] being there just because he’s always been there so I never, it had little effect on me when I found out he was leaving. But I think ‘Mr. Free Speech’ now charging people [for his services], that’s really what it is — it’s retirement. He’s ready to retire and, I mean he’s taking off 10 weeks a year, he’s working four days a week — one day a week is a replay, they’re running commercials, I mean this is what [Johnny] Carson did at the end."

I dont care he takes one day a week off, but he should be off Mondays (just like Carson). The Friday show always had a certain energy to it that the rest of the week didn't. The current Friday show is too mellow, it would work better on hangover Monday!

Yawn

As a fan I'd prefer 5 days but it is what it is. I pay 13 for Sirius and the service is still worth it.

But you're prolly just another OandA whiner. Sorry no one cares about your guys but this aint the way to drum up interest.

BTW I get OandA included with my DirectTv and still can't listen.

I agree with that. Monday would be a much better choice for a day off recap-show than Friday is.

There seems to be alot of complaining about the current situation by die-hard fans, so its definitely possible that a change may come. Stern is tweaking with everything, seeing what will work, so nobody is saying that this situation is there to stay.

And I feel that you need to cut back just a little on the Stern tonic lol.

Stern puts on a good show, and I think with two channels of pretty good content (except the news), one less day of Howard isn't that bad. Seriously, wasn't he on vacation every other month back on terrestrial radio? This should be nothing new to his fans.
