A list of who's whos who have The Legendary Laurie to thank for their local legendary status:

Charles Goyette -- At KTAR, he was simply hosting Sunday mornings and filling in. He and Laurie became friends at 620. When she moved down the dial, she gave him his own show. His Charlie's Angels remains a classic chick schtick... :-*

David Leibowitz -- Laurie gave the newspaper columnist a radio forum--and his name still lingers in our medium. 8)

Bruce Jacobs -- He was "just" a sports guy...Now, we can set our alarm clocks to his mantra and start the day off right!

In any case, I admire that Laurie took risks.

We concur, your AirChic-ness. However Leibo was a known quantity when KFYI was at 9~ten. The Chickboss gave him a shot while she was programming KT'R. She left, he stayed until The Men In Secret Underwear canned him right after Leibo was voted top talk-show host by Phoenix Magazine. Chickboss quickly brought him back as one of the Wheel Of Hosts talkers on the 7-10pm shift. The Nurse and I give Chickboss kudos for taking chances...her decision to put Jacobs on in AMD was ballsy, but proved to be right on the money!
