THE LIDDY & HILL NO SHOW

C

CHILL

Guest
STILL NO LIDDY & HILL ?

THIS WEEK, JOE CRUMMEY.

NEXT WEEK, JOE CRUMMEY ??

God, lets hope so.

Afternoons are 10X better without those losers on the air.

please no homophobia they're nice boys anyway, Austin is so cute

It seems that Hill has been off of the air for the last few weeks with Liddy doing at least one week by himself. Today at 4:00 Crummey's intro music started playing and he said "don't read anything into that" and it wasn't mentioned again. Normally, even though someone from the same station is subbing for another personality, they use the regular intros. Hmmmmm....

It was a pleasure to hear Joe come on with his theme music and not the Liddy and Hill intro.

Crummey does a great job, he deserves afternoon drive, let Liddy and hill join Jeffrey O'Brian, that way all the completely unfunny people can be on at once.

All of their content is now gone except for "big news to share."

Hmmmmm indeed.

I have no insider information, but...

I occasionally (though not within the last six months or so) have the opportunity to see Tom Liddy and / or Austin Hill and chat them up about radio. They always mention how the numbers are good and how bigger things like syndication may be down the road. I'm not saying that's what's happening, 'cause I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me.

If that is the case, it would make sense to keep them in PM drive in the western time zones so as not to compete against Rush or Hannity. It would also mean that they would probably need some time to prepare and KFYI would want to keep the seat warm for them.

I heard Crummey for a little while yesterday and I recall him saying that he was filling in for L & H.

They would compete with Savage, just not in Phoenix. While I doubt syndication is in line, perhaps it's 7-10pm regionally on KFYI, KNST, and KVNA, who has voiced a serious interest in more local and regional talk.

And it would not be syndication with Premiere; it would be more of a casual project like Jerry Springer's synication by CC itself.

Part of an email I received from Tom Liddy in response to my question of where have they been?

"Thanks for asking. Austin and I have brought KFYI from Number 23 to Number 1 in afternoon drive. We have been asked to syndicate the Liddy and Hill Show nationally. We will roll out the national show later this fall. If you would like to have Liddy and Hill on KFYI, you should cvall the station and tell them or email [email protected] and tell them you want to keep Liddy and Hill on KFYI."

Hmmmm indeed....

I THINK YOU'RE ON TO SOMETHING.

ISN'T G GORDON LIDDY CURRENTLY ON JEFFREY'S KXAM. ?

ISN'T G GORDON CLOSE TO RADIO RETIREMENT. ??

HMMMMM.

Are you all nuts? First of all Joe Crummey is a joke. I get sick everytime I hear his Eeeeviiillll Crap. I do hope that Liddy has shed that tag-a-long, no talent, Austin Hill. Anytime he was on alone, I cringed and changed stations. Liddy is definitely opinionated, but very bright and well informed. I hope they stick Crummey back on at nights and either bring Liddy's syndicated show on or put Barry on.

Barry will never do three hours in PMD, he's skating by now.

YOU'RE TALKIN ABOUT BARRY MARKSON, RIGHT ?

JUST WHAT KFYI NEEDS... ANOTHER XTRA SPORTS JOCK PLAYIN NEWS TALK RADIO

YIKES

Barry Young (Was Re: Giddy & Shrill)

> YOU'RE TALKIN ABOUT BARRY MARKSON, RIGHT ?

No, the reference is to the "not really famous"
Mr. Kim Komando.

BTW, one would have thought that, as part of
Barry's last contract negotiation, he would
have gotten 55/FYI to agree to air Kim's show
in its entirety--three hours--and air it live
(7-10am summer, 8-11am winter).

I've heard Tom Liddy alone - well informed, but not funny. I've heard Austin Hill alone - somewhat informed, but again, not funny. Put the two together and they play off each other. Silly? Yeah. Informed? Absolutely. Biting commentary? Uh-huh. I'm probably in the minority, but I do like them - 14 hours a week anyway (I can't tolerate PC Friday - the traffic reports are the funniest schtick during that hour).

I like Crummey's views (and I smile at his Eeeeeviiiillll), but his lack of knowledge is shameful for a radio talk show host. His coverage of the Reagan funeral was embarrassing. He didn't know the meaning of the military folding the flag that draped the casket, and constantly described the funeral as "cool", i.e. "Aw, this is cool!" "This is so cool." Memo to Joe: funerals aren't cool. Crummey's saving grace is that he isn't nearly as annoying as others in the KFYI lineup.

Put marbles in your mouth and talk 90 MPH about nobody-knows-what and you have Barry Markson.
